Our History

The Association of Latino Professionals For America (ALPFA) is the largest business student organization at Florida International University, and a leading student chapter of one of the largest professional organizations for Latinos in the nation. ALPFA at FIU is the proud successor of the FIU Accounting Association (FIUAA). Established in 1986, the FIUAA began creating professional and developmental opportunities. ALPFA at FIU continues to build upon this legacy of shared values and guiding principles and as such has earned the ALPFA regional student chapter of the year award a record 11 of the 14 years since the awards establishment as well as 2022 National Student Chapter of the Year and 2023 Southeast Student Chapter of the Year.
